About me

I have been a violin maker and restorer for over 20 years and have had the privilege of working on a great many fine instruments. I have played the cello since childhood and from the moment I entered a violin shop to do some work experience as a young lad, I was hooked. I even went as far as to learn German just so that I could train at the prestigious school for musical instrument making in Mittenwald.

After graduating from Mittenwald in 1997, I worked in London in the workshops of Michael Byrd and Adam Whone and then went on to set up my own workshop restoring, repairing and selling violins, violas and cellos. I now live and work in Germany, although maintain strong links with London, working on large restoration projects for the trade as well as work for private clients.

My experience in London and Germany has enabled me to handle a tremendous amount of instruments and to work for people who have demanded very high standards from me.  I maintain that pride and high standards in all the work that I do. You can be assured of the highest quality workmanship and the greatest care of your instrument.
